Why is it that some people see sex in anything and everything?

I came across a post on an "anti-paedophile" blog recently that provides a prime example.

The writer was working herself up at a post on Boychat, here, in which a boylover described how he loved his Young Friend, who it seemed loved hugging and holding hands.

The "anti" decided that, despite a complete lack of evidence, the BL was just a hair'sbreadth away from forcibly raping the boy! Where do these people get their ideas? She said "the boy is not asking to be molested" - which of course is true, but there was no suggestion he was. She also said "he doesn't want you" - which is obviously untrue from the description.

I wonder what causes this obsession with sex and molestation? I have come across it before - usually in "anti" writings - and can't help feeling that these people really ought to see someone. In my experience, it would take a hundred paedophiles to generate as much sexual obsession as one "anti".

I suppose one should feel sorry for them really, if they see sexual overtones in such innocent activities as hugging or holding hands. I can honestly say I don't know anyone who can't do these without leading to something else. I do wonder how they behave in their day-to-day life - do they put skirts on the piano legs, too?

Boy killed for wetting the bed

There are many solutions proposed for children who wet the bed, but this one won't appear in any parenting book - prevent them drinking anything so they won't produce any liquid.

Jonathan James of Dallas has a night-time problem, so his father and stepmother decided to punish him by with-holding water and forcing him to stand in front of the window with the sun beating down on him. Even when he had soemthing stuck in his throat he was forbidden to drink.

When he eventually collapsed and was taken to hospital, the doctors were simply told "he's sick".

This is a prime example of people who should never be allowed near children. Do they just hate kids, are they mentally ill, or just naturally nasty? And does it matter?

Slightly luckier was a 9-year-old who was locked in a shed overnight by Mr and Mrs Arthur Warren of Greenville, Virginia; he was staying with them while his parents worked nights, and decided the best way to cure a bit of night-time incontinence was keep him out of the house altogether.

When 17-year-old swimming star Justin Wright told his parents he'd met a nice young lady and was going out with her, instead of asking to meet her, they responded by trying to get him thrown off the swimming team.

Indeed, they emailed not only his coach but other members of the team to try to drum up support, to such an extent that the team had to make an official complaint and Justin was forced to go to court. Then they withdraw funding.

Aparrently Mr and Mrs Wright's objection was based on her age and she "stole him from the cradle". She is only 24 and surely 17 is a bit old to be still in the cradle?

It beggars belief that two people will go to such lengths simply to show opposition to someone they don't know and have never met, based entirely on prejudice, rather than getting to gether and discussing the situation with those involved.

There is now, unsurprisingly, bad feeling within the family which so easily could have been avoided. Still, I suppose we must be grateful they didn't call her a paedophile (there's no suggestion she is, but that's how some people think).

Different leopard, same spots

The people who ran the Wikisposure paedo-hating site have been given the boot by Perverted Justice; reason unknown, but one can hazard a guess that their policy of invented accusations bordering on the libellous, along with their stalking of gay teens and outing them to their parents, or, worse, waiting until they reach 18 and then printing damaging material, all about people or organisations not convicted - or even charged - with any offence.

So now they've come up again with another catchy title but the same policies of gloating over convictions or character assassination if they can't find anything illegal, or even inappropriate.

Even someone admitting having feelings for children, however honorable, makes them fair game for attack.

It's interesting to note that they have been off-line for a while; one can't help wondering if there was a legal case in progress.

Fortunately such sites are so rabid and off-the-wall that only their own cronies actually take any notice of them.

A very brave young man

Probably many of us would say they would die for someone they loved. Rather fewer will have the opportunity and fewer still would actually do it.

For 13-year-old Jordan Rice of Toowoomba, Queensland, however, it was a bit differemt. When he and his family became trapped on the roof of their car in the recent floods and called the emergency servcies for help, Jordan instructed them to take his younger brother Blake first.

When they retrurned, Jordan, would could not swim, and his mother had been swept away.

I cannot begin to imagine the feelings Jordan must have had, knowing that in saving his brother's life he was likely to lose his own. Nor in fact the feelings of Blake, who will doubtless remember all his life that he owes that life, literally, to Jordan.

My prayers are with Blake and his family.

Hello everyone!

I can't believe it's a year and a half since my last post - I've been so busy the time just seems to fly past and nothing gets done!

Anyway, I'm glad to see you're all still looking in, though people searching for the worst case of child abuse are still depressingly common.

Still what with some recent events, I'll be posting some fairly up to date news and comment over the next few days.

Welcome new readers

Hello everyone.

I see that quite a few people have been looking in lately, so welcome to you all.

A lot of you come from the page supposedly about me on Wikisposure - it's a pity a lot of that is wrong, but never mind. Welcome anyway. I hope you find your visit informative.

A bit more worrying is that so many people are using search engines to look for things like "worst case of child abuse". Of course, the worst child abuse is that perpetrated on children like Baby P, tortured to death by his mother and her friends. It is difficult to imagine anything worse than that, though some - surely mentally ill - people seem to have no difficulty not only imagining it, but doing it.

Perhaps, if you found these pages looking for "worst child abuse", you could write in and says what you were looking for? It would put my mind at rest, at least.

A man was discovered kicking a toddler to death in the street; when interrupted, he carried on!

Is insanity the only explanation? Surely there can be no other.

Kelly Tollerton did. She decided to spend the time partying with her boyfriend, while her son was locked in the kitchen.

As described here and here, she says she thought a friend was looking after him. Obviously, that didn't happen, but she seems more concerned with denying her responsibility for the situation than with the fact her child was left to fend for himself. I know that if I had left my child in the care of someone else who then abdicated that responsibility, I'd be beside myself. Wouldn't you? Miss Tollerton seems quite satisfied with the situation.

The poor boy's ordeal only came to light when the downstairs neighbours reported water leaking through their ceiling - obviously he had turned on the tap for a drink of water and been unable to turn it off again. It's extremely fortunate that was the case, otherwise who knows how long he would have had to suffer for.

Miss Tollerton will be sentenced later this month, and has been told to expect imprisonment. She certainly deserves it, but I hope she also receives some psychiatric help which she so obviously needs.

While looking up the previous the report, I found this one, where God obviously isn't welcome in these people's lives at all.

A dreadful example of organised - and commercialised - child abuse if ever there was one. Why aren't these people prosecuted? Or in treatment?

I will make no further comment. Read the report - but make sure you're sitting down. It's not pleasant.

A Wonderful Miracle

Joel Bearder was born with a heart condition that meant he was starved of oxygen. Attempts to operate failed and he was given only a few days - weeks at the most - to live.

Now, eight months later, he is as healthy as ever. His heart, instead of failing, started to work normally. The doctors are mystified and say they've never seen anything like it before.

This is truly a miracle. I am sure I am with his parents in thanking God for helping Joel to live. God obviously has plans for him in later life.

Shannon is safe, thank God

Nine-year-old Shannon Matthews of Dewsbury, who was missing for 24 days, has been found hidden in a flat not far from her home. A man has been charged with abduction.

As in all such cases, we don't know all the details about what happened, probably it will become clear later, but the important thing is that Shannon is unharmed.

Please include everyone involved in your prayers, especially this week when we remember that Jesus paid the ultimate price for all of us.

Horrific abuse on Jersey

The dreadful things uncovered at the former Haut de la Garenne children's home bring tears to my eyes.

While investigations are proceeding - and look to continue for some time - so far we have had reports of systematic abuse going on for years, some of it so bad as to result in injury or even death.

Although the home closed in 1986, many of the victims and abusers are still alive. Are the latter still abusing? What did they do it for? ("I was only obeying orders" just doesn't work.)

How people can spend so much time deliberately hurting others, particularly children, is beyond me. That their minds must be warped is pretty obvious, but an explanation - and with luck a cure - would be welcome.

I hope that the publicity, while welcome as it can help trace those responsible, is not distressing for the victims who will have got on with their lives now and may not appreciate being reminded of it.

Corporate Child Abuse in New York

Yvonne Bray thought it would be nice to take her family to New York on a short holiday.

Unfortunately, she became ill while there and had to go into hospital. The hospital, deciding that the Misses Bray could not stay with their mother overnight, called Social Services. The SS, instead of being sensible and taking them back to their hotel - or even finding them emergency foster accommodation - sent them to prison.

OK, so maybe it wasn't called a prison, but read the description: the girls, aged 13 and 15, were photographed, strip-searched, forced to shower while being watched, had their clothing taken away and issued with a uniform, and made to spend the night in a public dormitory under constant supervision.

Fortuantely, they were rescued by their mother the next day. To add insult to injury, Ms Bray senior is now flagged as being under investigation by the SS!

Eventually, his mother was called, who called her babysitter - who was closer to the school - to collect him. The school refused and instead sent him to hospital. Who sent him home.

What is it about the USA that generates so much hatred of children? Is there something in the water, or what? Can't something be done? It's been going on for far too long.

Quite a bit of stuff has been added recently, but unfortunately seems to be about someone else. Apparently I'm not the only LeX online - a quick Google shows hordes of them!

Fame at last!

It's funny how search engines often throw up things that, though unrelated to what one is looking for, are nonetheless interesting.

It was one such instance that led me to something called "Corporate Sex Offenders". Not, as one might expect from the name, anything to do with companies that are involved in crime, but basically any company or web site that doesn't reject anything that could be paedophilie-relevant.

Thus, there are bookshops (because there are books about it), social networking sites (because some users might be pedosexual), and of course Blogger, because blogs like this one are here. The fact that there is no proof that any offences have taken place seems not to matter.

Anyway, there's a page about me! And, perhaps surprisingly considering who's responsible for the site, fairly accurate, though they do limit my love for boys to ones they describe as little. Maybe they think, as my grandmother did, that all children are "little", even when they're six feet tall and built like rugby players. I love all boys, big or little. Size, is, of course, irrelevant (unless you're hanging wallpaper).

So, I'd like to say hi to Mr Eide and his friends, and play this one specially for you: I lay my Life down at Your Feet.

An eleven year old boy was shot as he played football in a car park. It's thought his killer could be as young as 13.

What is going on here? What could possibly be going through the mind of someone who cold-bloodedly murders an annocent child like this? What on earth could have induced him to do it? This is a tragedy.

I weep for this boy and his family and friends, and hope and pray that the culprit is found soon, not only so that the family can find closure, but that he can receive the help he so obviously needs.

Something I witnessed in the street this afternoon:

A little girl, maybe three or four years old, running a short distance in front of her mother. Nothing wrong with that, it was a pedestrianised area, so the only danger was from people not looking where they were going.

However ... the mother was calling to the child "Shake your a*se! Go on! Shake it!" and wolf-whistling.

What on earth was she thinking of? Possibly the child was too young to understand what the words meant, but if she is now she won't be soon. Certainly she won't understand the possible consequences of such an action.

I suppose the mother thought it was "cute" for her daughter to waggle her backside in public, though I can't for the life of me think why. What will she do when some dirty old man decides it is more than "cute" and takes the girl up on her unspoken and unknowing offer?

I worry about what her home life is like. Do "ar*e-shaking" parties go on? At whom are they shaken? In any case, it should be many years before the child goes to any.

She may not realise it, but this woman is in danger of setting her daughter up to become a victim.

It's now a week since Madeleine McCann disappeared from her apartment in Portugal. So far, there has been no clue as to where she is or who was responsible.

While questions have been raised regarding the efficiency of the Portuguese police and whether she should have been left on her own, even for a short while, these can be answered later. What matters now is her safety and well-being.

I hope you will all join me in praying for her and her parents, and that she will soon be found safe and well and re-united with her family.

Child abusers get away with it

A mother who goaded her two toddlers to fight each other on video camera has received a 12-month suspended sentence, along with her mother and two sisters.

What is going on here? These women forced the children, aged two and three, to attack each other and shouted and swore at them when they resisted. Not only that, but they filmed it for later enjoyment!! I can't imagine what sort of mental state generated this desire. The women obviously have something wrong with them.

Having pleaded guilty in court - not that they could easily deny it, given the evidence - what sentence was handed down? A year. Suspended. Suspended. That means that if they don't re-offend in the next year or so, they won't go inside. Oh, and 100 hours community service. That means the next few weeks painting fences or municipal gardening. Big Effing Deal.

What it really means is that the court thinks that if you abuse your kids you should get away with it. Why was there no requirement for psychological reports? Therapy? Offending behaviour classes? Why is there no register for these people - I use the word advisedly - to be put on?

The judge said they are no risk to the public. Sure there isn't. Unless the members of the public are under five.

The women are banned from working with children. Unless they want to become teachers or babysitters, this is hardly going to make a difference to them. They are not, however, banned from having any more children of their own; when they do, there can be no doubt that they will abuse them as well.

I weep for the women's past and future victims.

Virginia Tech - a sad day

The killing of 32 people on Monday, by student Cho Seung-hui, who then killed himself, is a tragedy.

Of course, all murders are tragedies, but cases such as this are more so, because it was so sudden and the victims had no opportunity to find out what was happening or why.

We shall probably never know just what drove this young man to act the way he did, though in hindsight warning signs will probably turn out to be all too obvious. Just as with the shooting at Columbine High School in Colorado - eight years ago this week - after the event it became obvious that things were going wrong for the killers long before they did the deed, it seems that Mr Cho was showing signs of disturbance that could have been reacted to, but tragically were not.

In all such incidents, after the event there are always lessons to be learnt. Sadly, it seems they never are.

My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their loved ones.

With definitions, language, and the difference between fantasy and reality.

For example:

I made clear my views on the following:-

a) Sex with children: Bad - don't do it.

Why? Not only because it is impossible to be sure the child is doing it completely of his/her own free will, rather than feeling under some obligation, but because the risk of harm - both physical, from the act itself - and emotional/psychological, from the emotions involved at the time and the reactions of others - is too high. And any non-zero risk is too high. (And if you do, you can get put away.)

b) Child Porn: Bad - don't do it.

Why? Because, leaving aside the proportion that is obviously film of child abuse, even if the kids look as though they are enjoying it, how do we know what conditions it's made under? They might like the activity itself, but are they really doing it just because they want to? Or are they doing it because it's the only way they can get food and shelter, or because they are scared of what might happen if they say no? If you enjoy looking at pictures of people who are in situations they cannot control, doing things they have no choice about, what does that say about you? (And if you do, you can get put away.)

c) Taking photos of kids in public places: Bad - don't do it.

Why? Because at the very least, taking someone's picture without asking them is rude. And if you intend to take them to drool over, that reduces a complete stranger, who you have already considered unworthy of even asking permission, to the level of a sex object. This shows a lack of respect. Do you disrespect children that much?

d) Taking photos of kids and posting them to the internet: Bad - don't do it.

Why? Because this is the same as above, but multiplied manyfold. It's bad enough that you think someone worthy only of being used as your own room decoration, but when this picture - remember, taken without permission or maybe even knowledge - is posted in public, for other people to drool over, this doesn't show a lack of respect, it shows a complete absence of it, along with a total disregard for the person's feelings.

In another blog, some people, when given my opinions above, complained I "hadn't got it", "didn't understand" and such, along with abuse and a fair smattering of four-letter words (always a sign they can't think of anything else to say), and went so far as to have my blog removed. The curious thing is, it wasn't a pro-child-sex "I do what I want because they like it really" militant paedophile blog, where one might expect such a reaction, it was an anti-child-abuse kid-sex-is-wrong blog.

I respectfully propose that it's they who haven't "got it", and certainly don't seem to understand that when I say "don't have sex with kids", I actually do mean "don't have sex with kids". Children are much too beautiful and valuable to risk harming them.
